Kuala lumpur: The Third Meeting of the Fourth Session of the 15th Parliament concluded today after a 35-day sitting starting from October 6, with the approval of 15 Bills, including the Supply Bill (Budget) 2026.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Dewan Rakyat Speaker, Tan Sri Dr. Johari Abdul, highlighted in his adjournment speech that the session also saw the approval of the Motion on the Auditor General’s Report 3/2025, along with two motions from various ministries.
Additionally, the session included four ministerial briefing sessions, one of which took place in the Special Chamber, along with six briefing sessions led by the Chairman of the Select Committee on various statements tabled.
Johari also noted that this year, the Malaysian Parliament hosted the 46th General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) and launched the Parliament School programme, aiming to enhance the younger generation’s understanding of the parliamentary institution.
Plans for the upcoming year include initiatives to further ‘people-ise’ the Parliament, making it more accessible to the public and encouraging public involvement.
Besides Budget 2026, the approved Bills include the Passport (Amendment) Bill 2025, Immigration (Amendment) Bill 2025, Anti-Bullying Bill 2025, and the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (Amendment) Bill 2025, among others.
Other notable approvals were the Finance Bill 2025, Legal Profession (Amendment) (No. 2) Bill 2025, Rukun Tetangga (Amendment) Bill 2025, and the National Skill Development (Amendment) Bill 2025.
Furthermore, the Employment Insurance System (Amendment) Bill 2025, Employees’ Social Security (Amendment) Bill 2025, Private Agencies (Amendment) Bill 2025, and Hire-Purchase (Amendment) Bill 2025 were passed.
The final Dewan Rakyat meeting for this year has been adjourned to a yet-to-be-determined date.
