An 11-year-old boy was found drowned this morning after he was reported to have fallen into a river near Jalan Welfare, Kampung Baru Sungai Buloh, here yesterday.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar stated that the body of Paulus Amsal Jimri was discovered at 10 am, approximately 1.9 kilometres from where he had initially fallen. The Water Rescue Team (PPDA) retrieved his body at 10.47 am, and it was identified by family members at the scene at 11.10 am before being handed over to the police for further action.
Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar mentioned that the victim was believed to have fallen into the river while playing with a friend along the riverbank near the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE), close to Menara FINAS in Damansara Damai. The search and rescue operation, which entered its second day, began at 7.30 am and involved personnel from the Sungai Bu loh and Shah Alam stations.
