Barcelona: Global technology solutions provider ZTE Corporation and CelcomDigi have partnered to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) technologies into Malaysia’s telecommunications infrastructure. Through this collaboration, both companies aim to enhance connectivity, empower businesses, and support government digital initiatives using AI-driven solutions, including new calling, intelligent deep packet inspection, and intelligent operation and maintenance.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, ZTE Malaysia managing director Steven Ge stated that the partnership with CelcomDigi marks a significant step in bringing AI-driven innovation to Malaysia’s telecommunications sector. By integrating advanced AI solutions, the aim is to improve user experience and assist businesses in going digital, ultimately accelerating Malaysia’s AI-driven digital transformation to establish Malaysia as a prominent digital hub in the region.
The memorandum of understanding for this partnership was exchanged on the sidelines of the ongoing Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 at Fira de Barcelona Gran Via. The event was witnessed by Deputy Communications Minister Teo Nie Ching, who is on a two-day working visit to Barcelona, representing Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil.
MWC, the world’s largest connectivity event, gathers industry leaders, innovators, and policymakers to unveil advancements in mobile technology, connectivity, and digital transformation. The 19th instalment in Barcelona this year featured the Malaysia Pavilion, showcasing the country’s technological progress and its role in advancing 5G deployment, digital infrastructure, and collaborative innovation within the ASEAN region.
