Kuala lumpur: Professional men's singles shuttler Lee Zii Jia has reached an agreement with the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) to be part of Malaysia's Thomas Cup 2026 squad.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Team LZJ announced that Zii Jia has also agreed to waive his image rights fee in order to represent the country at the upcoming Thomas Cup, reflecting his commitment and dedication to Malaysia.

Zii Jia expressed his appreciation to BAM President Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz and BAM Head of the Performance Committee, Datuk Seri Lee Chong Wei, for the trust and confidence placed in him to contribute to the nation.

He hopes this marks a new beginning for both Zii Jia and BAM, as they move forward together in the interest of Malaysian Badminton.

The Thomas Cup 2026 will take place at Horsens, Denmark, from April 24 to May 3.
