Yusri Hails Players’ Grit After Immigration FC’s Maiden Win

Kuala lumpur: Immigration FC’s long-awaited first Super League win this season proved an emotional moment for head coach Yusri Che Lah. Yusri described the crucial three points picked up against Penang FC last night as the result of his players’ hard work, discipline, and determination, and also praised their composure and mental strength.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Yusri expressed that the 95 minutes felt interminable, emphasizing that usually, the pressure arises when they are chasing goals, but this time it was about defending their lead. He noted the visible joy and relief on everyone’s faces when the final whistle blew, marking a significant moment for the team at the City Stadium.

Yusri highlighted how the victory elevated the team to eighth place in the standings with six points from eight matches, symbolizing the resurgence of ‘The Mighty Tigers’. Despite struggling earlier in the season, the team showcased their potential with this win.

Even with key players like Amirali Chegini and Nik Sharif Haseefy sidelined due to injuries, Yusri commended debutant Mohd Loqman Hakim Marzuki and substitute Abdul Hanafie Tokyo Abdul Hasim for their impressive performances. The head coach underscored the importance of the upcoming three-week break, which will be essential for refining tactics and improving fitness.

Meanwhile, Penang FC head coach Wan Rohaimi Wan Ismail acknowledged the difficulty of accepting the home defeat. He remarked on his players’ panic after missing several chances and being punished for losing possession at crucial moments.
