Kuala lumpur: YTL Communications Sdn Bhd, through its service brand Yes, has launched its first 5G Advanced prepaid product with the introduction of the yes 5g advanced starter pack. Chief executive officer Wing K Lee announced that Yes is now the first telco in Malaysia to offer 5G Advanced technology on prepaid. This initiative makes next-generation connectivity available to a wider population, allowing more Malaysians to benefit from enhanced connectivity to meet modern demands.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Wing K Lee stated that when Yes 5G advanced was launched in October, all postpaid and broadband customers were upgraded to the latest 5G technology without additional costs. The recent launch extends 5G Advanced connectivity to prepaid users as well. The starter pack is priced at RM10 and includes 20GB of data with uncapped speed and a 30-day validity period, the longest among similar RM10 prepaid plans.
Wing added that following its debut in October in the Klang Valley, Yes has completed the rollout of Yes 5G advanced across its entire 5G network. The network now covers 82.4 per cent of populated areas nationwide, establishing Yes's leadership in 5G in Malaysia. This rollout also positions Malaysia as the ninth country globally to adopt this pre-6G standard.
