Kuala lumpur: Education provider YelaoShr Education Group Sdn Bhd has officially transitioned into a licensed franchise under the name YelaoShr, with plans to expand its network to 300 centres across the country by 2028.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the announcement was made at a franchise signing ceremony, during which the company introduced 66 new franchisees under its expansion programme. YelaoShr co-founder and chief executive officer David Yap Wing Fai stated that the franchise model is designed to support educators and young professionals in opening and operating centres using a standardised system. He highlighted the company’s journey from a single classroom to a network of over 60 centres and thousands of educators serving tens of thousands of children through its trilingual one-on-one model.
Yap emphasized that the company’s goal is not just to expand in numbers but to empower individuals, particularly women and young professionals, to build sustainable education businesses with structured support. He stated, “Our goal is not just to open 300 centres, but to see 300 success stories of transformation.”
YelaoShr has reportedly reached over 120,000 students nationwide through its personalized trilingual education model, which focuses on one-on-one learning in Mandarin, English, and Bahasa Malaysia. Founded in 2005, the company is currently in the pre-initial public offering stage and aims to be listed on the ACE Market of Bursa Malaysia within the next two years.
Meanwhile, Malaysian Franchise Association (MFA) chairman Datuk Dr Radzali Hassan commented on YelaoShr’s certification, noting the ongoing development of the franchise industry in Malaysia. He mentioned that there are now over 1,200 registered franchises with more than 13,000 outlets across the country, creating tens of thousands of jobs. Radzali praised YelaoShr as a valued member of the MFA and acknowledged their plan to go public as a confident move for an education-based business, showing belief in the strength of its mission to bring inclusive, high-quality learning to every child regardless of background.
At the event, a book titled “Finnish Education is What Malaysian Children Need the Most” was launched, exploring the integration of Finnish education philosophies with Malaysia’s Madani Education Framework. As part of its corporate social responsibility efforts, YelaoShr also presented contributions totaling RM33,688 to three organizations, including Madrasah Tahfiz Al-Quran Darul Falah in Melaka, Maahad Tahfiz Istiqomatuddin in Sementa, Klang, and Dual Blessing Bhd.
