Kuala Lumpur: Yayasan Selangor is enhancing the education of children in the state by offering scholarships to 423 students, with a total sponsorship amount of RM2.015 million.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Yayasan Selangor’s chief executive officer, Raja Nazirin Shah Raja Mohamad, presented the scholarship offer letters to recipients from various backgrounds, including students from low-income families, the B40 group, and rural areas at the Asrama Yayasan Selangor Klang’s Bestari Hall. The scholarships provide financial assistance with a Small Scholarship of RM700 per year or a Special Scholarship of RM1,000 per year, along with benefits covering educational expenses such as school fees, textbooks, and other necessities.
Yayasan Selangor allocates around RM2 million annually to cover the cost of food and beverages for students in its central hostels in Klang and Sabak Bernam. This effort ensures the welfare of the students. The foundation also implements academic and character development programs, including guidance classes, free tuition, exam workshops, and academic support programs focusing on motivation, identity, and leadership.
Raja Nazirin Shah emphasized the foundation’s commitment to providing necessary facilities to support the students’ development. He urged students to utilize the opportunities and facilities provided to become versatile and competitive individuals. The initiative aims to produce well-rounded individuals with a first-class mindset and extensive knowledge, honing various skills for success in life.
Raja Nazirin Shah added that this initiative reflects Yayasan Selangor’s commitment to supporting the state’s education agenda, aiming to produce high-quality human capital for the development of the nation.
