KUALA LUMPUR: Yayasan PETRONAS, the social impact division of PETRONAS, has initiated a significant relief effort aimed at supporting communities impacted by the ongoing Northeast monsoon season floods. Through its Uplifting Lives Disaster Relief initiative, the organization is collaborating with the Social Welfare Department (JKM) and the National Disaster Management Agency (NADMA) to deliver essential supplies to those in need.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, a total of 7,000 care packages have been dispatched to JKM disaster relief depots across the country since September. The distribution effort is designed to ensure that communities and families affected by the floods receive immediate access to necessary supplies. Each of the care packages contains a blanket and various daily and food necessities, providing critical assistance during this challenging time.
This collaboration highlights the importance of coordinated efforts between government agencies and corporate social responsibility initiatives in responding to natural disasters, ensuring that aid reaches those who need it most in a timely fashion.
