YADIM and CIMB Islamic Bank Distribute 300 Food Kits in Melaka Under Harapan Ramadan Programme

Yadim: The Harapan Ramadan programme, organised by CIMB Islamic Bank Berhad in collaboration with Yayasan Dakwah Islamiah Malaysia (YADIM), has successfully distributed 300 food kits to underprivileged groups in Melaka, totaling RM44,000 in value.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Negeri Sembilan and Melaka YADIM director Abdul Halim Ismail explained that the food kits included essential items such as rice, cooking oil, flour, and sugar, along with Syawal preparation items, each valued at RM150. The distribution occurred in three Melaka districts-Jasin, Melaka Tengah, and Alor Gajah-in stages. The second phase took place in Melaka Tengah, with Alor Gajah scheduled next. Each district will see 100 recipients benefit from the initiative. The recipients, identified as qualifying individuals like single mothers and those in need, received the aid during the Melaka-level Harapan Ramadan 2026 programme.

Pertubuhan Sejagat, Amal, Takwa dan Ukhwah patron Datuk Seri Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin was also in attendance. Abdul Halim expressed that the assistance aims to alleviate living costs for these groups and bring them joy during Aidilfitri preparations.

Additionally, Abdul Halim announced the Rakan Masjid X Rakan Muda Ramadan programme in Melaka, in partnership with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, scheduled for March 15 at Masjid Al-Abrar, Semabok. The event will be attended by Minister of Youth and Sports Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari and Duyong assemblyman Datuk Mohd Noor Helmy Abdul Halem. Activities will include a Quran recitation session across Melaka's three districts, involving 50 participants each, and a khatam Quran ceremony with 30 participants per district.
