Dubai: The World Governments Summit concluded in Dubai with its largest-ever participation, drawing over 6,250 attendees, including global leaders, policymakers, and experts from more than 150 countries.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the summit, held from February 3 to 5, featured over 700 chief executive officers, more than 500 ministers, and 60 heads of state, alongside 87 Nobel laureates, internationally recognized scientists, and over 80 international organizations and research centers.

The event serves as a global platform for shaping the future of governance, convening presidents and other world leaders for high-profile strategic discussions. Key sessions included "Is the Next Decade African?" where African presidents outlined their vision for the coming decade; "The Geopolitical Reset" with Dr. Anwar Gargash and Mike Pompeo; and "A Conversation with the President of the Swiss Confederation," which focused on strategic global priorities.

The 13th edition hosted more than 445 dialogue sessions involving over 450 global figures, alongside 25 global forums and over 45 ministerial and high-level meetings. High-impact announcements at the summit included the launch of the OPENSCI initiative at the World Laureates Summit, the unveiling of the world's largest AI chip, and the introduction of autonomous transit pods in partnership with Glydways as part of Dubai's next-generation mobility plans.

Sustainability initiatives were also unveiled, including plans to adopt the "sponge city" model to enhance urban climate resilience, alongside a broader wave of agreements and initiatives. The next edition of the summit is scheduled for February 1 to 3, 2027, continuing its mission to shape the future of governments and societies worldwide.
