Kuala lumpur: A woman was injured after her leg was trapped under a car that moved suddenly while she was opening the gate of her house in Dataran Pengkalan Barat 2, Taman Temara this afternoon.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) assistant director of operations Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad reported that they received an emergency call about the incident at 3.39 pm. A team from the Pasir Puteh Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) promptly responded, reaching the scene by 3.43 pm, where they found a 38-year-old woman with her leg trapped under a Proton Wira car.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim was opening her house gate when the car, with its engine running, unexpectedly moved, causing her to fall and become trapped. Despite attempts by bystanders to assist, they were unable to free her.
Sabarodzi detailed that the head of the operation assessed the situation using the SAVER (Systematic Approach to Victim Entrapment Rescue) concept. Firefighters then employed special equipment, including the Air Lifting Bag and Hydraulic Cutter, to lift the vehicle and rescue the woman.
The victim, who sustained leg injuries, was handed over to the Ministry of Health (MOH) team for further medical treatment. The operation was concluded at 4.16 pm.
