Klang: A 25-year-old woman jumped from a moving e-hailing vehicle near Taman Eng Ann, Klang, after suspecting the driver was watching her, causing her to feel anxious and fearful during the ride.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, ACP S. Vijaya Rao, Klang Utara District Police Chief, stated that the woman reported feeling uncomfortable as the driver, a 47-year-old local man, appeared to be observing her through the rear-view mirror. In response to her anxiety, she opened the door and exited the vehicle while it was still in motion.
The driver, who was transporting two female passengers at the time, stopped immediately to check on the woman, who had sustained minor injuries. The e-hailing booking was subsequently cancelled, and a nearby motorcyclist assisted in taking the woman to a clinic for medical attention.
The e-hailing driver filed a police report for self-protection to address any future legal concerns. Authorities are investigating the incident under Section 336 of the Penal Code. A dashcam video of the event has circulated on social media, capturing the moment the woman jumped from the vehicle.
