Woman Killed, Two Injured After Car Plunges Into Ravine At Bukit Ah Kim

Kuala Krai: An elderly woman was killed while two other people were injured after the car they were in skidded and plunged into a ravine at Kilometre 81, Jalan Kota Bharu – Gua Musang (Bukit Ah Kim) today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Kuala Krai district police chief Supt Mazlan Mamat stated that the woman, aged 72, who was the back passenger, died at the scene. The driver, a 21-year-old man, and the front passenger, a 52-year-old woman, sustained injuries and were taken to Sultan Ismail Petra Hospital for treatment.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the Perodua Myvi was traveling from Kuala Lumpur to Pasir Mas when it lost control and fell into the ravine at about 1.40 pm. The deceased’s body has been sent to the Sultan Ismail Petra Hospital’s forensics unit for an autopsy.

The case is currently under investigation under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act. Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the Kuala Krai district police headquarters traffic police station or the investigating officer, Insp Nurin Farisha Mohd Amdan, at 09-9666222.
