Penang: A woman, who holds Permanent Resident (PR) status in Malaysia, was found stranded and still breathing on the beach near Persiaran Karpal Singh here today. Timur Laut deputy police chief Supt Lee Swee Sake stated that they received information regarding the incident from the public at 1.48 pm, prompting a police team to be dispatched to the scene where they discovered the woman.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the police team called for ambulance service to provide the 46-year-old woman with emergency assistance before transporting her to the Penang Hospital. Efforts to obtain a statement from the victim are currently on hold due to her unstable condition.
The woman, identified as a Thai national, is a Malaysian permanent resident and is married to a Malaysian citizen. Preliminary investigations conducted by the police have not identified any criminal elements at the scene. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is still ongoing.
