Bandar al muktafi billah shah: A woman with mental health issues is feared to have drowned after reportedly falling from the Sungai Paka bridge along Jalan Jabor-Paka, near Bandar Al Muktafi Billah Shah, here today. According to BERNAMA News Agency, Dungun police chief Supt Nik Ab Halim Nik Mat stated that Nor Haslini Din, 47, is believed to have fallen from the bridge, which is located 100 metres from her residence, at 10.30 am. Her father, Din Zakaria, 77, witnessed the incident but was unable to save her. The victim is believed to have been swept away by the strong current. Supt Nik Ab Halim added that the victim's father immediately contacted the police to seek emergency assistance following the incident. A search-and-rescue (SAR) operation was promptly initiated, involving 27 personnel from various agencies, along with members of the public. The operation covered an area within two kilometres of the incident site. As of late this afternoon, the victim had not been found, and the search efforts are ong oing. The authorities continue to monitor the situation closely, hoping for a positive outcome.
