Muar: A woman in her 20s drowned after the vehicle she was driving plunged into Sungai Muar at Tanjung Agas here today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Muar Fire and Rescue Station operations commander, Senior Fire Officer I Jahairi Shukor, stated that they received an emergency call at 3.48 pm. This prompted the deployment of 10 firefighters from the Muar and Tangkak stations to the location of the incident.

Upon their arrival, the operations team discovered a woman trapped inside a Nissan Grand Livina multipurpose vehicle (MPV) submerged in the river. The firefighters managed to extricate the victim from the vehicle, but she was confirmed dead by medical personnel at the scene. The body was subsequently handed over to the police for further action.
