Machang: A woman lost her life and her husband sustained serious injuries following a collision between their motorcycle and a car at KM 29.4 of Kota Bharu-Kuala Krai Old Road near Pulai Chondong.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Machang district police chief Supt Azuhar Md Nor reported that the incident occurred at approximately 8.30 am. The victim, Yusnita Yusuf, aged 47, died at the scene while traveling with her husband after performing Aidiladha prayers.

The collision involved a Perodua Viva and the motorcycle, which were both heading from Kota Bharu towards Kuala Krai. As a consequence of the accident, Yusnita, who was riding pillion, was confirmed dead at the scene. Her husband, 44, who was riding the motorcycle, suffered serious injuries and is currently receiving treatment in the red zone of Machang Hospital's Emergency Unit.

The driver and passenger of the Perodua Viva did not sustain any injuries. The case is under investigation in accordance with Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. Authorities are urging members of the public with any information related to the incident to contact the investigating officer, Insp Khairulanwar Adamb, at 011-10085165 to assist with the investigation.
