Kuala Lumpur: Police have confirmed that a female employee who was assaulted by her employer in an office in Taman Kota Masai, Pasir Gudang, had pre-existing health issues prior to the incident on May 15.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Seri Alam district police chief ACP Mohd Sohaimi Ishak stated that the medical report from the hospital indicated the 34-year-old woman only sustained scratches and bruises due to the incident. The report also revealed that she had an unrelated illness requiring surgery, which was not caused by the assault.
Mohd Sohaimi clarified that the injuries were minor and the case is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code. This information was shared during an interaction with reporters at the Johor Contingent Level Monthly Gathering at the Johor contingent police headquarters.
He addressed claims circulating on social media that suggested the woman needed hospital treatment and surgery due to the incident’s injuries. Mohd Sohaimi confirmed that investigation papers have been completed and submitted to the deputy public prosecutor for potential charges.
The investigation was initiated after a viral video surfaced showing the woman being assaulted by her employer, with a police report filed on the same day at around 5:53 pm.
