Sungai petani: The wife of a 34-year-old man who was shot dead during a shootout with police in Bandar Puteri Jaya last night has been remanded for seven days to assist in the investigation. Kuala Muda police chief ACP Hanyan Ramlan stated that the woman, in her 20s, was taken into custody at the couple’s rented home located nearby.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, a search was conducted at the premises where authorities seized a pistol. The remand order for the woman is effective from today until July 12, as confirmed by ACP Hanyan Ramlan at the Kuala Muda district police headquarters.
The incident occurred around 7.50 pm when the man reportedly opened fire on police during an operation in Bandar Puteri Jaya. Bukit Aman’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID) acting director, Datuk Fadil Marsus, mentioned that the suspect was believed to be involved in criminal activities and had possible links to two men who were shot dead in Jitra yesterday morning.
