Wetland Park Campsite Enhancements Focus on Visitor Safety

Hannah: The Wetland Park campsite here has been upgraded with visitor safety continuing to be a priority through regular maintenance of facilities and the handling of outdoor activities by certified personnel. Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Federal Territories) Hannah Yeoh said the move was taken to ensure visitors can carry out recreational and camping activities in a safe and comfortable environment.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the operator appointed by the Putrajaya Corporation (PPj) is an experienced operator who has been given the right to manage camping activities and all activities at the site. The staff deployed by the operator are certified and licensed, ensuring that safety is the top priority. The equipment is regularly maintained, enhancing the overall safety and quality of the experience for visitors.

Hannah Yeoh highlighted that emphasis at the campsite, which spans 5,210 square metres, includes lighting, cleanliness, toilet maintenance, and security monitoring. These efforts align with the aspiration to make Putrajaya a green and livable city. The campsite features 48 tents accommodating between 120 and 200 visitors at a time, with a special "rahmah" pricing of RM30 for two days and one night from Monday to Thursday, and RM50 on weekends or public holidays.

Visitors have the option to rent tents and other equipment such as chairs, beds, and lamps. A range of recreational activities are available, including all-terrain vehicles (ATV), cycling, flying fox, abseiling, and jungle trekking. The park also boasts a 420-metre long dual zip line, recognized by the Malaysia Book of Records as the 'Longest Parallel Double Zip Line' in Malaysia.

Hannah noted that Putrajaya Wetland Park has seen a consistent increase in visitors over the past three years, from 444,938 visitors in 2023 to 473,602 visitors in 2024, with numbers reaching 487,371 last year.
