Wei Chong-Kai Wun Withdraws from Singapore and Indonesia Opens, Coach Announces

Kuala lumpur: National men's doubles pair, Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun, will miss two upcoming Badminton World Federation (BWF) World Tour tournaments, namely the Singapore Open starting tomorrow and the Indonesia Open on June 2.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, head coach Herry Iman Pierngadi confirmed the decision was made due to Wei Chong not fully recovering from a knee injury. "Wei Chong's leg has not fully healed, and he is still recuperating. For the time being, he is not ready for tournaments, so they will skip the Singapore and Indonesia Opens," Herry said recently.

Herry further mentioned that he and the player plan to meet with a doctor soon to obtain a clearer assessment of the injury. This withdrawal follows last week's decision for Wei Chong-Kai Wun to also pull out from the Malaysia Masters due to Wei Chong's ongoing knee issues.
