Weak 3.7-Magnitude Earthquake Recorded North Of Sandakan, Sabah

Kuala lumpur: A weak earthquake measuring 3.7 on the Richter scale was detected approximately 88 kilometers north of Sandakan, Sabah, at 10:30 pm today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) reported that the earthquake's coordinates were 6.6 degrees North and 118.3 degrees East. The epicenter was located about 354 kilometers south of Palawan, Philippines, and 88 kilometers north of Sandakan, with a depth of 392 kilometers.

MetMalaysia assured that the earthquake posed no tsunami threat to Malaysia, providing reassurance to residents in the affected areas.
