Weak 3.4-Magnitude Earthquake Detected in Bukit Kepong, Pagoh

Bukit kepong: A weak earthquake measuring 3.4 on the Richter scale was detected in Bukit Kepong, Pagoh at 8.55 am today. The tremor, which occurred at a depth of 10 kilometres, was centred at coordinates 2.4 degrees North and 102 degrees East.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) reported that the earthquake was located 16 kilometres southwest of Pagoh and does not pose a tsunami threat to Malaysia. The department shared this information through a post on their official Facebook page.

Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi stated that the situation is under control, with no reports of casualties or property damage. He assured the public that the state government is working closely with relevant agencies to monitor the situation.

Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi also advised residents to remain calm, avoid unstable structures, and adhere to instructions from the authorities to ensure their safety.
