Waytha Moorthy Apologises To PM Anwar Over False Statement

Kuala lumpur: Former Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department P. Waytha Moorthy today issued a public apology to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim over a false statement he made at a media event yesterday.

After reviewing official judicial records, Waytha confirmed that Tengku Maimun was never part of the panel in any of Anwar’s appeal cases.

‘I take full responsibility and acknowledge that the statement was untrue and resulted from an honest mistake on my part. I sincerely apologise to Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for the factual error and for any misunderstanding or negative perception that may have caused,’ he said. Waytha Moorthy also extended his apologies to Tengku Maimun and others affected by the statement and urged anyone who had recorded or shared the video to delete the relevant parts to prevent the spread of inaccurate information.
