Water Supply Restored in Tapah After Two-Week Disruption: LAP

Tapah: All consumers impacted by the water supply disruption due to the Bukit Temoh Water Treatment Plant (LRA) in Tapah have had their service restored, as announced by the Perak Water Board (LAP).

According to BERNAMA News Agency, LAP stated on its Facebook page that land reclamation and new pipe installation at the landslide site in Taman Bunga Hibis, Tapah, are ongoing to ensure proper pipe positioning. Consumers still experiencing issues are urged to contact the LAP Complaint Centre at 15353 for further assistance.

The Perak Water Board expressed gratitude to all parties involved for their cooperation in restoring the water supply and appreciated the patience of affected users. The disruption was initially reported on February 14 by Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin, chairman of the state Infrastructure, Energy, Water and Public Transport Committee, affecting areas in Batang Padang and Hilir Perak due to leakage of LAP’s underground pipes.

Previously, on February 12, Mohammad Nizar mentioned that the disruption, affecting 50,000 consumer accounts in the Batang Padang and Hilir Perak districts since February 6, was expected to be resolved in stages starting February 13. The issue stemmed from a leak in an underground pipe that supplied raw water to the Bukit Temoh Water Treatment Plant near Taman Bunga Raya.
