War Zone Championship Faces Scrutiny for Lack of Government Approval

Kuala lumpur: The War Zone Championship combat sports tournament scheduled for December has not received approval from the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS). In a statement today, the ministry emphasized that any sports event, especially those involving international participation, must obtain approval from the Sports Commissioner of Malaysia (PJS) in accordance with the Sports Development Act 1997 [Act 576].

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the ministry warned that any international sporting event held without the approval of the Sports Commissioner may face action under Section 36 of Act 576. The KBS urged all parties to adhere to regulations to ensure the integrity and safety of sports within the country.

Earlier, a video of the War Zone Championship press conference gained widespread attention after it showed two children, purportedly participants of the tournament, engaging in a fight during the introduction session. The incident provoked negative reactions from social media users, who have called on authorities to investigate the tournament’s organization.
