Chuah: Prime Minister's wife Datuk Seri Dr. Wan Azizah Wan Ismail today spent time visiting an elderly couple facing health problems and financial hardship in Kampung Janging, Chuah, here. Accompanied by Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate for the Chuah State Legislative Assembly (DUN) Datuk Yew Boon Lye, she spent about 20 minutes visiting the residence of Zaiton Hasan, 60, and Paimin Sapari, 71, to inquire about their well-being and listen directly to the problems faced by the couple.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Zaiton and her husband, who suffer from high blood pressure and diabetes respectively, expressed deep appreciation for Wan Azizah's visit. "This is the first time a major leader has come to my house and I feel like it's a dream. Alhamdulillah, they (Wan Azizah and Yew) seemed very kind and caring," Zaiton remarked.
During the visit, Paimin received the donation of a wheelchair from the Port Dickson People's Spirit Welfare Association to help with his mobility. This gesture aims to provide some relief to the couple as they navigate their daily challenges.
In the context of the ongoing political climate, Yew Boon Lye is contesting in the 16th Negeri Sembilan State Election. He faces Pau Jeou Ching from Barisan Nasional (BN) in a straight fight. The Election Commission (EC) has scheduled early voting for the election on July 28, with polling day set for August 1.
