VM2026 Promotional Video To Be Updated Quarterly

Kuala Lumpur: The Visit Malaysia 2026 promotional video will be updated quarterly to ensure it remains relevant with the latest tourist attractions throughout the country. Tourism Minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing emphasized the importance of keeping the promotional content current and engaging by collaborating with all states to incorporate new destinations and packages.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Tourism Malaysia and the production company involved have been instructed to work diligently alongside state representatives to enhance the promotional video regularly. “Every quarterly, we will ask to update the video as there is a possibility there are new destinations or packages, so we will ask for updates,” Tiong stated after launching the 35-minute VM2026 promotional video at the Pavillion. The minister expressed hopes that the video production would remain free from political influences and welcomed constructive feedback to bolster the national tourism industry.

In his speech, delivered by Tourism director-general Datuk P Manoharan, Tiong stressed the necessity of collective effort to ensure the growth of the tourism sector. He highlighted the potential economic benefits that increased tourist arrivals could bring to the country. “The success of VM2026 does not rely merely on the promotional video. Continued support and active participation from all parties – tourism industry players, private sector, and all Malaysians – are needed,” he said, urging everyone to become tourism ambassadors for Malaysia.

Tiong also encouraged media partners and industry operators to distribute the promotional video on their platforms to maximize its reach. Previously, in response to a query at the Dewan Rakyat, Tiong disclosed that the video production cost was RM1.9 million, which involved compiling 200 short videos through an open tender process.
