Sungai bakap: A man attacked by a group of masked individuals armed with sharp objects at a restaurant in Sungai Bakap is now in critical condition, according to police reports. The victim, in his 30s, is undergoing treatment at Seberang Jaya Hospital after suffering serious injuries to several parts of his body. Another man injured in the same incident is being treated at Sungai Bakap Hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Penang Police Chief Datuk Azizee Ismail stated that preliminary investigations revealed the victims were drinking together with a third individual before they were suddenly attacked by 15 masked men. The attack, which occurred around 4.30 pm, has already resulted in one fatality. Authorities have detained two suspects aged 24 and 36, who have been remanded for seven days to assist with investigations under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

The attack is believed to have been motivated by a dispute related to a debt issue. Efforts to locate the remaining individuals involved are actively ongoing, with the police urging anyone with information to come forward. Several videos of the incident have gone viral on social media, drawing significant public attention to the case.
