Kuala lumpur: VentureTECH Sdn Bhd has invested RM28 million in three bumiputera-led high-growth, high-value technology companies to accelerate innovation in industrial automation, healthcare, and digital inclusion. The government-backed impact investment company said the strategic investments in Move Robotic Sdn Bhd, Recove Group Sdn Bhd, and Edote Sdn Bhd would help strengthen Malaysia's technological capabilities, industrial competitiveness, and long-term economic resilience.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, VentureTECH's chief executive officer Azizan Jaafar stated that the three companies demonstrated innovative technologies with strong commercial potential and the ability to address real-world challenges. Azizan emphasized that VentureTECH not only provides capital but also collaborates with its investee companies to enhance capabilities, unlock market opportunities, and support sustainable expansion. The investments align with the goals of the Bumiputera Economic Transformation Plan 2035 (PuTERA35).
In the same statement, VentureTECH detailed that Move Robotic offers an integrated warehouse and logistics automation ecosystem. This includes autonomous mobile robots, autonomous material-handling solutions, automated storage and retrieval systems, pallet shuttle systems, as well as a proprietary warehouse management system and robot fleet manager. The robot-as-a-service (RaaS) model allows customers to adopt automation solutions via a bundled subscription, reducing initial investment and making automation more accessible and scalable. Move Robotic is poised to become the first Malaysian provider of a fully bundled RaaS solution.
Recove, a medical technology commercialization platform, collaborates with universities, researchers, and medical specialists to transform research-driven healthcare innovations into market-ready products. Recove has successfully commercialized NEORUBIN®, a non-invasive newborn jaundice screening device, and is developing additional medical technologies. This investment aims to accelerate the commercialization of these products, allowing more Malaysian-developed technologies to reach hospitals, healthcare providers, and patients.
Edote focuses on assistive technology and has developed eBrelle, identified as the first standalone Braille laptop in Malaysia and Southeast Asia. The device integrates proprietary hardware, software, and accessibility-focused applications, enabling visually impaired users to access, create, and interact with digital content independently. The investment in Edote is expected to expand its manufacturing capabilities, strengthen its product portfolio, and widen the reach of its assistive technology in Malaysia and the region.
These investments reflect VentureTECH's continued commitment to developing bumiputera companies capable of competing at regional and global levels while strengthening Malaysia's innovation ecosystem.
