UUM Achieves 96.6% Graduate Employability Rate Last Year

Alor Setar: Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) successfully recorded a graduate employability rate of 96.6 per cent last year.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, UUM’s vice-chancellor, Prof Datuk Dr Mohd Foad Sakdan, stated that official data released by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) based on the Graduate Tracer Study (SKPG) revealed a consistent increase in UUM’s graduate employability rate. This rate improved from 94.4 per cent in 2022 to 95 per cent in 2023, ultimately reaching 96.6 per cent in 2024.

The vice-chancellor highlighted that this achievement surpassed the national target of 86.4 per cent, establishing UUM as a successful institution in producing capable graduates in management and business disciplines. Furthermore, UUM’s graduate employment rate reached 97.1 per cent under MOHE’s new operational definition, showcasing the university’s effective holistic approach in preparing students for employment.

Prof Datuk Dr Mohd Foad Sakdan expressed gratitude to industry partners for their continued trust in UUM graduates’ abilities and skills. He emphasized that the university’s success demonstrates its commitment to an industry-oriented education that balances theoretical knowledge with practical skills aligned with contemporary needs.
