NILAI: Tunku Ampuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Aishah Rohani Almarhum Tengku Besar Mahmud, expressed pride in Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia’s (USIM) achievements, which have enhanced the university’s reputation across several fields.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Her Highness, who serves as the Chancellor of USIM, attributed these accomplishments to the hard work and dedication of the academic staff, administrative personnel, and students who have remained committed to raising the university’s standing both nationally and internationally.

Among the notable initiatives was the organization of the Malaysia Madani International Symposium 2024, which gathered Islamic leaders from various disciplines, along with the Special Convocation for the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar. Tuanku Aishah Rohani highlighted that the success of these events has bolstered USIM’s position in the Islamic world.

Additionally, USIM’s rebranding efforts gained prominence when the Prime Minister announced that USIM would function a
s an Arabic Language Training Centre for those planning to further their studies at Al-Azhar University in Egypt. Her Highness made this remark during USIM’s 22nd convocation ceremony held today.

In attendance was the Yang Dipertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir, who witnessed the proclamation and declaration of his son, Tunku Zain Al-‘Abidin Tuanku Muhriz, as the new Pro-Chancellor. Tuanku Aishah Rohani also officiated the appointment of Bursa Malaysia Board chairman, Tan Sri Abdul Wahid Omar, as USIM’s Pro-Chancellor.
