Usercentrics Acquires MCP Manager To Extend AI Privacy Governance

Munich: Usercentrics, the global leader in privacy-led marketing solutions, has acquired MCP Manager, a next-generation governance platform for the Model Context Protocol (MCP), built by a team with deep expertise in artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure. Usercentrics in a statement said the acquisition makes the company the first major global market leader in data privacy solutions to extend consent and data guardrails into AI-driven workflows.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the acquisition marks a significant step in defining how companies govern AI at a time when compliance is increasingly critical. With the EU AI Act moving from phased implementation to enforcement this year, the importance of AI governance cannot be overlooked. By integrating their privacy-led suite with MCP Manager's governance capabilities, Usercentrics aims to help organisations future-proof their AI strategies, enabling them to innovate more rapidly, remain compliant, and scale AI responsibly without sacrificing trust.

Usercentrics CEO, Donna Dror, emphasized the strategic importance of the acquisition: 'With this acquisition, we are defining how companies govern AI at a moment when compliance is no longer optional. As the EU AI Act moves from phased implementation into enforcement this year, organisations can no longer treat AI governance as an afterthought.'

MCP Manager founder, Michael Yaroshefsky, who will join Usercentrics as Vice President of Artificial Intelligence, Chief AI Officer (CAIO), noted the shift towards governed AI infrastructure: 'With regulations now taking effect, governed AI infrastructure will become the standard, and together with Usercentrics we are uniquely positioned to lead that shift.'

The newly combined platform will deliver a unified Privacy-Led Marketing Suite that manages consent, preferences, and data governance across websites, apps, internal systems, and consumer-facing AI agents. By extending consent into real-time, model-driven interactions, the platform ensures that experiences remain transparent, trusted, and aligned with user choices, effectively turning compliance into a strategic advantage.

Usercentrics supports over 2.4 million websites and apps across 195 countries and processes 8.8 billion user consents each month, helping businesses turn trust into a competitive edge.
