Kota kinabalu: Sabah Barisan Nasional (BN) has urged all early voters in the state to take the opportunity to vote tomorrow to determine the direction and future of Sabah. Sabah BN Chairman Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin emphasized that early votes carry the same weight as votes cast on polling day, November 29, for the 17th Sabah State Election.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Bung Moktar stated that every voter bears a great responsibility in making the best choice for Sabah’s future over the next five years. He reminded voters that early votes are equivalent to those on the 29th, urging them to use the opportunity wisely as it only comes once every five years to change the fate and future of Sabah.
Bung Moktar highlighted that despite Sabah’s over 60 years of independence, the state’s development and progress still lag behind other states, making it one of the least developed and poorest states nationwide. In response, he stated that BN is offering a new chapter to prosper Sabah and assist the people in overcoming poverty through the implementation of agendas outlined in the party’s manifesto.
He urged voters to use their power wisely, voting for candidates who can elevate Sabah’s status and help the people of Sabah rise from poverty. He encouraged voters to support Barisan Nasional candidates, expressing hope that they can change the future of the people of Sabah.
A total of 24,426 early voters are expected to fulfil their duties at 58 early polling centres, which will open simultaneously across the state from 8 am and close in stages. This state election sees 596 candidates contesting 73 State Legislative Assembly (DUN) seats, with 74 of them running as Independents.
The campaign period for the 17th Sabah State Election, which began on November 15, will conclude at 11.59 p.m. on November 28.
