Unpaid Summonses Do Not Affect BUDI95 Subsidy Eligibility: Loke

Kuala lumpur: Failure to settle outstanding summonses does not affect eligibility for the BUDI MADANI RON95 petrol subsidy (BUDI95), said Transport Minister Anthony Loke. He clarified that the mechanisms for handling outstanding summonses and eligibility for the BUDI95 subsidy are independent and not automatically linked.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Loke explained that under the current policy, applicants must meet certain basic requirements to apply for or continue receiving the BUDI95 subsidy. These requirements include being a Malaysian citizen verified through the MyKad and holding a valid driving licence. A valid licence is defined as one that is within its validity period or has expired for no more than three years.

Loke also advised the public to continue complying with traffic laws to ensure the safety of all road users. This statement comes in response to reports from several portals earlier today, which claimed that individuals who failed to pay their summonses would lose their BUDI95 eligibility.
