Kuala Lumpur: MPC has been mandated to develop the Behavioural Insights (BI) initiatives in Malaysia since 2020. The government is adopting Good Regulatory Practices (GRP) to increase transparency, especially in disseminating information related to the implementation of policies and changes in laws and regulations. One method employed to increase information transfer and adoption of behavioural insights in policy-making is holding a number of conferences on BI.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, in 2024, the National BI Conference focused on developing a national understanding, capacity, and agenda for BI, concentrating on a national conversation about BI in Malaysia. This year, the theme focused on enhancing GRP to improve productivity by applying the BI approach in policy-making. The conference aimed at developing a deeper understanding through experience sharing, exchanging best practices, and recognising practical BI tools and methodologies in developing strategies for effective policy implementation across various country contexts. It also aimed to build a strong BI community through a recognition ceremony, experiential learning, and exploring ways to integrate BI into productivity strategies.
