UniSIRAJ Achieves Three-Star MyRA Rating in 2025

Arau:Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin (UniSIRAJ) has shown notable progress in its research capabilities, with its Malaysian Research Assessment (MyRA) rating increasing from two stars in 2024 to three stars in 2025.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Raja Muda Perlis, who also serves as UniSIRAJ Chancellor, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, highlighted that this improvement reflects a more productive, competitive, and impactful research ecosystem. The achievement is attributed to the university's efforts in enhancing academic publications, high-impact research, innovation, and strategic collaborations at both national and international levels. Recognition of expertise and commercialization of research findings have also been crucial factors.

The three-star MyRA rating is not just an upgrade but also indicates the effectiveness of strategic initiatives implemented by UniSIRAJ, owned by the Perlis Islamic Religious Affairs Council (MAIPs). This accomplishment underscores the university's momentum towards fostering a robust, collaborative, and performance-oriented research culture.

Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra shared these remarks after witnessing the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between UniSIRAJ and the Islamic Civilization Center (ICCU) in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The event was attended by Raja Puan Muda Perlis Tuanku Dr Hajah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil, their daughter Hajah Sharifah Farah Adriana Jamalullail, and Malaysia's Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Rafedah Abdul Aziz.

The MoU, signed by UniSIRAJ Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Muhamad Rozaimi Ramle and ICCU Director Dr Firdavs Abdukhalikov, aims to bolster UniSIRAJ's international academic and research network through the sharing of expertise, knowledge, and research resources. The development has been supported by journal publications exceeding targets, increased participation in innovation, and the establishment of stronger collaborative networks both nationally and internationally.
