UniMAP Graduate Marketability Rate Reached 98.9 Pct In 2024

Kangar: Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) notched another feather on its cap when it achieved an impressive 98.9 per cent graduate marketability rate in 2024, up from 97.7 per cent the previous year.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, UniMAP’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof Datuk Dr Zaliman Sauli, said the rate reflected the university’s continued commitment to ensuring its graduates are knowledgeable, competent, presentable, and ready to compete in a challenging job market. “This achievement demonstrates UniMAP’s efforts to strengthen strategic relationships with industries, government agencies, and the community while offering education based on industry needs, yielding positive results,” he noted in a statement.

Dr Zaliman highlighted that various initiatives have been implemented by the university, including programmes based on Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), comprehensive practical training, strong industry collaboration, and ongoing career guidance for students. These efforts are part of UniMAP’s strategy to align education with industry demands, which has evidently paid off.

The Vice-Chancellor also reported that UniMAP’s graduate employment rate showed an increase, reaching 98.8 per cent, marking the highest rate since the university’s establishment in 2002. The university’s focus on practical and industry-relevant education continues to contribute significantly to these outcomes.

The Higher Education Ministry has defined the marketability rate to include employed graduates who are either pursuing further studies, undergoing skills enhancement programmes, or awaiting job placement.
