Gua musang: The landslide at Jalan Gua Musang-Lojing FT185, Section 107.6 at Pos Blau early today is believed to have been caused by underground water flow, according to district police chief Supt Sik Choon Foo. He stated that ongoing soil movement in the area continues to pose a risk of further landslides.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Supt Sik highlighted that the collapsed portion of the road spans approximately 120 metres and is 30 to 35 metres deep. Preliminary investigations suggest that underground water movement is the likely cause of the collapse. He noted that two days prior, small cracks had already appeared along this stretch, prompting monitoring by the Fire and Rescue Department and the Public Works Department.
Earlier, the Gua Musang Public Works Department announced that the affected road section is closed to all traffic from today until further notice to facilitate safety and recovery operations.
