UN Committee Warns of Potential Catastrophe for Palestinians Due to Israeli Practices

New York: A United Nations committee has issued a stark warning that Israeli practices could lead to another catastrophe for the Palestinian people, akin to the Nakba of 1948, which resulted in the mass displacement of Palestinians.

According to Union of OIC News Agencies, the Special Committee to Investigate Israeli Practices Affecting the Human Rights of the Palestinian People and Other Arabs of the Occupied Territories highlighted the severe impact of Israeli actions. The committee’s statement emphasized the ongoing and unimaginable suffering inflicted on the people living under Israeli occupation. It also noted the accelerated pace of land acquisition by Israel, which is seen as part of its broader colonial ambitions.

The committee’s warning underscores the grave situation, stating, “What we are witnessing could be another Nakba,” reflecting deep concerns over the potential for further mass displacement and suffering among the Palestinian population.
