UMNO Urged to Address Issues Swiftly to Avoid Public Backlash: Ahmad Zahid

Arau: UMNO president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has called upon the party’s leadership and members to act quickly in responding to issues raised by detractors. The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the importance of timely action to prevent these issues from going viral and negatively affecting public perception, regardless of their truthfulness.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ahmad Zahid highlighted the potential consequences of ignoring repeated or fabricated issues, warning that they could evolve into a significant problem that undermines the party. Speaking at the inauguration of the Arau UMNO division office, he noted the party’s previous shortcomings in managing such issues, which have allowed other political parties to gain more electoral seats by swaying public sentiment.

Ahmad Zahid pointed out that despite UMNO’s larger membership base, other parties with smaller followings have successfully secured more seats due to their ability to cultivate strong loyalty among their supporters. As the Rural and Regional Development Minister, he urged UMNO leaders at all levels to address emerging issues promptly and efficiently.

In his address, Ahmad Zahid also stressed the need for UMNO to maintain internal unity and bolster party strength amidst differing opinions and perspectives.
