Kuala lumpur: UMNO is always open to working with all parties to ensure the continued struggle for the Malay race and religion, stated its deputy president, Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan. Mohamad, who also serves as Foreign Minister, emphasized that the party has never shut the door on efforts to achieve Malay unity across different parties and ideologies.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mohamad reiterated an open invitation to any party proposing Malay unity, assuring that UMNO would welcome such initiatives with an open heart, provided there is clarity in the cooperation. Speaking at the opening of the 2026 UMNO Wanita, Youth, and Puteri General Assemblies at the World Trade Centre, he highlighted the need for sincere intentions and a focus on the strategic political interests of the Malay-Muslim community in any cooperative efforts.

Mohamad called for these collaborations to be devoid of hidden agendas and emphasized that they should not be seasonal or exploitative of UMNO's strengths or weaknesses. He assured that if partners approach with sincerity, UMNO would reciprocate, allowing Malay political unity to be possible at any time.

He further explained that the cooperation must align with the "Rumah Bangsa" vision, championed by UMNO, and must operate under UMNO's umbrella, making the party the foundational pillar that unites everyone towards the Malays' interests. Mohamad underscored UMNO's historical role in Malay nationalism and its ongoing commitment to shelter Malay unity.

He addressed potential prejudices against the 'Rumah Bangsa' vision due to its roots in UMNO, advocating for political flexibility and loose understanding rather than binding agreements, allowing UMNO the freedom to act based on its political calculations.

Mohamad expressed gratitude to those who have supported UMNO, either directly or indirectly, and urged UMNO nationalists to avoid crises of slander and insults. He stressed the importance of fighting fake news and slander against UMNO while maintaining ethical politics and refraining from spreading unverified information about opponents.

The opening ceremony was attended by key figures including UMNO secretary-general Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki, Wanita UMNO chief Datuk Seri Noraini Ahmad, UMNO Youth chief Datuk Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh, and Puteri UMNO chief Datuk Nurul Amal Mohd Fauzi. The 2026 UMNO General Assembly, held from September 9 to 12 at WTC, involves 1,163 Wanita delegates, 1,171 Youth delegates, and 1,145 Puteri delegates participating in the party's three-wing assemblies.
