Kuala lumpur: UMNO must take the lead in shaping the digital narrative and bolster its presence on new media to effectively engage young voters and stay relevant, according to UMNO Supreme Council member Datuk Seri Dr. Zambry Abdul Kadir.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Dr. Zambry emphasized that politics has transitioned into the digital era, where information, perceptions, and sentiments are swiftly influenced through social media and online platforms. He noted that this new challenge necessitates UMNO to adopt more innovative, flexible, and pragmatic approaches, moving away from traditional methods.
Dr. Zambry, who also serves as the Barisan Nasional (BN) secretary-general and the Higher Education Minister, clarified that these strategies do not imply abandoning UMNO’s core principles. Instead, they involve presenting the party’s values and ideals in a more effective and inclusive manner. He further highlighted that unity among members has been the cornerstone of UMNO’s strength throughout its 79-year history, warning that internal divisions could jeopardize the party’s survival.
