Johor Bahru: Leading property developer and asset manager UDA Holdings Bhd (UDA) is reinforcing its presence in Johor with the launch of 422 property units, targeting a broad demographic in a move to boost urban homeownership. In a statement today, UDA said the initiative reflects its ongoing commitment to community empowerment and increasing access to property ownership, particularly for the Bumiputera community in urban areas.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, this launch marks five decades of UDA’s success in urban development in Johor, including key projects such as Bandar Baru UDA, Pusat Bandar Tampoi, Skudai Kanan, and Bandar UDA Utama. As part of its proactive strategy, UDA has launched the MeiRiah Tawaran Hebat UDA Heights sales campaign, alongside corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives aimed at adding value for buyers and supporting the well-being of the local community.
Under the promotion, the first 10 purchasers of UDA residential or commercial properties in Johor will each receive an RM2,000 IKEA Tebrau voucher, totaling RM20,000 in giveaways. Buyers will also benefit from exemptions on legal fees and stamp duties for selected developments currently under construction. The available units include double-storey terrace houses, bungalows, semi-detached homes, single-storey terraces, and two- and three-storey shop lots.
Additionally, UDA has introduced an early registration campaign for upcoming projects set to launch in 2025 and 2026. These projects include two- and three-storey townhouses, a 35-storey serviced apartment tower, and single-storey budget retail outlets. ‘These current and upcoming developments are guided by sustainable construction practices to support eco-conscious living, while integrating comprehensive safety features to ensure inclusive and holistic community well-being,’ the statement added.
UDA president and chief executive officer Johari Shukri Jamil highlighted that Bumiputera ownership accounts for more than 70 percent of UDA’s property developments in Johor, particularly in Johor Bahru and Kota Tinggi. This highlights the company’s commitment to enhancing Bumiputera participation in property ownership. ‘A variety of efforts have been implemented to reach this goal, which we are intensifying through today’s promotional launch. The primary objective is to promote our MeiRiah Tawaran Hebat sales campaign in conjunction with the month of May,’ he said.
The two-day sales event features family-friendly activities, including coloring contests, free health screenings by KPJ Healthcare, and home d©cor workshops with IKEA Tebrau.
