KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has pledged to continue to serve with full commitment and dedication to achieve greater success that the country can be proud of. On the occasion of the two-year anniversary of his appointment as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Rural and Regional Development, Ahmad Zahid, through a Facebook post today, said that throughout the first two years in office, various challenges were faced, but many successes were also achieved.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ahmad Zahid highlighted several key achievements during his tenure, including the introduction of the UP_TVET system as a single channel for applications to Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) courses. This initiative has led to an increase in the employability rate of TVET graduates to 94.5 per cent. Furthermore, he noted the significant contribution of the halal industry to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), which has reached 7.9 per cent, with halal product exports amounting to RM53.7
2 billion. Additionally, RISDA Holdings Group recorded a financial performance of RM37 million, with a projected performance of RM70 million by the end of this month.

Ahmad Zahid emphasized that all efforts toward these achievements were implemented with the main goal of making Malaysia a developed, respected, and prosperous country. He stated, “This success is not the achievement of an individual, but the result of close cooperation between all the people, agencies, and leaders who have collectively supported a common aspiration.”

He also mentioned that every effort made was aimed at bringing progress to rural areas, empowering human capital, strengthening the Bumiputera economy, upholding Islam, improving national disaster risk management, and expanding the country’s halal industry to the global stage. In his post, he expressed gratitude to all parties who have entrusted him with the responsibility, acknowledging their support in achieving these milestones.
