Two Women Die in Fiery Car-Lorry Collision

Yong Peng:Two 22-year-old women were tragically burnt to death when their car caught fire after colliding with a lorry at Batu 1, Jalan Yong Peng-Ayer Hitam, this afternoon.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the victims were identified as the driver of the Perodua Myvi, Siti Nur Batrisya Mohd Khalid, and her front seat passenger, Siti Nurmaisarah Abd Jalil.

Ayer Hitam Fire and Rescue Station operations commander Mohd Shamin Mohamed Salikin reported receiving an emergency call at 4.21 pm, with a team reaching the scene four minutes later. Upon arrival, firefighters found the car about 80 percent burnt, with both victims trapped in the driver and front passenger seats.

Firefighters conducted firefighting operations and used special equipment to extricate the victims. Unfortunately, they were pronounced dead at the scene by Health Ministry medical officers. Mohd Shamin stated that both victims were found burnt beyond recognition.

Three men in their 30s, who were in the Isuzu lorry involved in the collision, escaped without injuries. The operation, which involved 16 personnel from the Ayer Hitam and Yong Peng Fire and Rescue Stations, concluded at 6.38 pm. The bodies were subsequently handed over to the police for further action.
