Two Men Seriously Injured In Brawl In Jasin

Jasin: Two men were seriously injured in a fight between two groups on the roadside near the bus stop on Jalan Gapam here at midnight last night. Jasin district police chief Supt Lee Robert reported that the incident occurred at about 12.10 am. One of the victims, a 21-year-old unemployed man, sustained head injuries, bleeding in the brain, a broken neck, a fractured skull, and wounds to his left ear. According to BERNAMA News Agency, another victim, a 28-year-old lorry driver, suffered from bleeding in the brain, a fractured left wrist and left leg, a dislocated elbow, and bruises on his left arm. Initial investigations revealed that the altercation involved two groups of men who used their hands and a weapon believed to be a stick. The fight is suspected to have been triggered by jealousy when several unknown men demanded a 19-year-old factory operator return a bag belonging to a woman referred to as 'Rina.' The factory operator was slapped by one of the suspects, which led to his brother, the lorry drive r, intervening, causing the fight to escalate. The two injured victims were transported to Melaka Hospital for further treatment, both remaining unconscious due to brain haemorrhage. CCTV footage near the incident site captured several men believed to be involved in the fight, and efforts are ongoing to track down and apprehend the suspects. The case is currently being investigated under Section 326 and Section 148 of the Penal Code.
