Kuala lumpur: Two people were killed after the car they were travelling in skidded off the road and plunged into a roadside drain along Jalan Sungai Bidut here this afternoon. According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Sarawak Operation Centre identified the victims as a 46-year-old male driver and a 33-year-old female passenger.
The department reported receiving an emergency call at 2.48 pm, which prompted a team from the Sungai Merah Fire and Rescue Station to be dispatched to the scene. "Firefighters arrived at the location at 2.59 pm and found a car involved in a self-accident before ending up in a drain at the roadside. Both victims were still inside the vehicle, which was subsequently pulled out of the drain," the department stated.
