Two Kelantan Teams Face Challenging Paths In Malaysia Cup

Kota bharu: Super League team Kelantan The Real Warriors FC (TRW FC) and semi-pro A1 League team Kelantan Red Warrior FC (KRW FC) face tough paths to the quarterfinals of this season's Malaysia Cup.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, KRW FC head coach Irfan Bakti Abu Salim stated that his team would face significant challenges as newcomers against Super League team DPMM FC, which he described as a quality team, in their first match of the knock-out event. He noted that KRW FC is largely composed of local players, with only one import, and emphasized the importance of using his experience to guide the team as far as possible in the tournament.

Irfan expressed his desire for the players to concentrate on one match at a time, maintain morale, and demonstrate discipline throughout the Malaysia Cup, viewing it as an excellent opportunity for his players to gain exposure for the remainder of the season.

Meanwhile, TRW FC assistant head coach Akmal Rizal Ahmad Rakhli highlighted the challenge his team faces against Selangor FC. He acknowledged that Selangor FC has the advantage on paper, being one of the top teams in the Super League with a mix of skilled foreign and local players. Akmal mentioned that previous encounters with Selangor FC in the Super League were challenging and stressed that his team is currently focused on improving player fitness and addressing weaknesses, particularly in attacking.
